Regular Season Round 5: Crvena Zvezda - Krka 88-62

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Serbian Crvena Zvezda as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Crvena Zvezda smashed 12th ranked Slovenian Krka in Beograd 88-62. Crvena Zvezda made 32-of-38 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game, while Krka only scored twelve points from the stripe. Crvena Zvezda looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 30 personal fouls committed by Krka helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Corey Walden (188-92, college: EKU) stepped up and scored 13 points and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners and Ognjen Dobric (200-94, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Crvena Zvezda players scored in double figures. Point guard Nejc Baric (183-97) responded with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and Serbian-Bosnian forward Adin Vrabac (205-94, agency: PEPI SPORT) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Crvena Zvezda (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Krka lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with four games lost. They share the position with Zadar. Krka will play next round against Mornar Bar trying to get back on the winning streak. Crvena Zvezda will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked Primorska in Koper.
