Regular Season Round 9: Alaska Aces - North Port 102-94

Everything went according to plan in Makati where sixth ranked Alaska Aces (6-4) beat bottom-ranked North Port (1-7) 102-94 on Friday. Alaska Aces made 31-of-39 free shots (79.5 percent) during the game. North Port was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Jeron-Alvin Teng (190-94) stepped up and scored 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and forward John-Rodney Brondial (196-90) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds. Five Alaska Aces players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized German forward Christian Standhardinger (206-89, college: Hawaii) with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 16 rebounds and 5 assists and center Kelly Nabong (201-88) scored 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Alaska Aces moved-up to fourth place. North Port lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost. Alaska Aces will face again bottom-ranked North Port (#12) in Pasig in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
