The most surprising game was the first loss of Flying Leopards (8-1) in Jinan on Friday night. Visitors were edged by tenth ranked Heroes (5-4) 128-127. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Flying Leopards. Heroes made 27-of-33 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Heroes had a 36-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Flying Leopards helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American guard Manny Harris (197-89, college: Michigan, agency: Network Sports International) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 10 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Point guard ShiYan Gao (186-96) contributed with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. The former international Ailun Guo (188-93) answered with 34 points (!!!) and 9 assists and the former international center Dejun Han (215-89) added 25 points and 17 rebounds in the effort for Flying Leopards. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Heroes have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place. Flying Leopards at the other side keep the second position with one game lost. Heroes are looking forward to face Royal Fighters (#10) in Beijing in the next round. Flying Leopards will play at home against Long-Lions (#11) and are hoping to win this game.
