Regular Season Round 4: Heidelberg - Tuebingen 99-80

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Walter Tigers (1-1) on the court of eighth ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by MLP Academics Heidelberg 99-80. They made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. MLP Academics Heidelberg forced 23 Walter Tigers turnovers. 29 personal fouls committed by Walter Tigers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Saeed Nelson (188-98, college: American) who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists and naturalized Serbian center Armin Trtovac (212-97) who added 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Josh Sharkey (175-97, college: Samford) responded with 21 points and 6 assists and his fellow American import Isaiah Crawley (201-98, college: Georgia South) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five MLP Academics Heidelberg and four Walter Tigers players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MLP Academics Heidelberg (2-1) moved-up to third place. Walter Tigers at the other side dropped to the ninth position with one game lost. They share it with Jena. MLP Academics Heidelberg will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Walter Tigers will play at home against Kirchheim Knights (#12) and are hoping to win this game.
