Regular Season Round 7: Vaerlose - Naestved 71-75

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Vaerlose (2-5) against fifth ranked Naestved (4-2) on Friday night. Host Vaerlose was defeated by Naestved in a tough game in Vaerlose 71-75. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Vaerlose won third quarter 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Naestved forced 20 Vaerlose turnovers. It was a great evening for American guard Alante Fenner (196-93, college: SSU) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 5 assists. British forward Samuel Idowu (204-97, college: St.Peter's) helped adding 13 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side international Mathias Christensen (202-95) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and South Sudanese center Koch Bar (208-96, college: Bradley) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Five Naestved and four Vaerlose players scored in double figures. Naestved moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Horsens IC. Loser Vaerlose keeps the second position with five games lost. Naestved will meet at home Amager (#5) in the next round. Vaerlose will play against the league's leader Wolfpack in Herlev and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
