There was an upset when 4th placed Shimane Magic (5-6) was edged at home by tenth ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (2-9) 83-82 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American-Jamaican power forward Kyle Hunt (208-89, college: USAO) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. American DeMon Brooks (202-92, college: Davidson) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and international power forward Nyika Williams (203-87, college: Pacific) added 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Five San-en NeoPhoenix and four Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. Shimane Magic's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. San-en NeoPhoenix moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Kyoto H. and Yokohama BC. Loser Shimane Magic keeps the fourth position with six games lost. San-en NeoPhoenix will have a break next round. Shimane Magic will play again at home against San-en NeoPhoenix (#10) and hope to win that game.
