Regular Season Round 4: Alginet - Tabernes 89-71

Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Tabernes (1-3) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Alginet (2-1) 89-71 on Sunday. Alginet shot 63.0 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Alginet especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Larry Abia (195-93) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 7 rebounds and forward Denis Tokaev (200-91) who added 6 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Daniel Zafon (179-95) responded with 14 points and Manuel Aroca (191-91) scored 15 points. Four Tabernes players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Alginet moved-up to fourth place in Group E-B, which they share with Gandia. Newly promoted Tabernes keeps the eighth position with three games lost. Alginet will face Ontinent (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Tabernes will play against UCAM Murcia 2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
