Rather predictable result in Bydgoszcz where twelfth ranked Enea Astoria (5-7) defeated bottom-ranked Polpharma (1-10) 94-89 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian Tomislav Gabric (204-95) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Corey Sanders (188-97, college: Rutgers) who added 17 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Four Enea Astoria players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Nigerian-Italian center Peter Olisemeka (207-91) with 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American guard Steven Haney (195-95, college: LMU) scored 20 points. Enea Astoria moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Polski Cukier. Polpharma lost ninth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Enea Astoria will face higher ranked BM Slam Stal (#4) in Ostrow Wlkp. in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Polpharma will play at home against Zastal Enea BC (#3) and hope to win that game.
