Regular Season Round 11: Ibaraki R. - Koshigaya A. 91-92

Important game to mention about took place in Mito. Fourth ranked Koshigaya A. (8-3) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging second-ranked Ibaraki R. (8-3) 92-91 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Ibaraki R.. Koshigaya A. players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a great evening for American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: App State) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Point guard Shunki Hatakeyama (170-91) helped adding 12 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) responded with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Five Koshigaya A. and four Ibaraki R. players scored in double figures. Ibaraki R.'s coach Richard Glesmann rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Koshigaya A. moved-up to second place, which they share with Sendai 89ers and Ibaraki R. Koshigaya A. will play against Fukushima (#5) at home in the next round. Ibaraki R. will play against Tokyo Z and hopes to get back on the winning track.
