Everything could happen in Istanbul at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Tofas and 12th ranked Galatasaray had identical 2-4 record. But Galatasaray was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Bursa 91-79 on Sunday night. Tofas dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Galatasaray's 30. They outrebounded Galatasaray 41-22 including a 17-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Tofas looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international Berkan Durmaz (206-97) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. American guard Sean Kilpatrick (193-90, college: Cincinnati) chipped in 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. Australian Brock Motum (208-90, college: WSU) produced 30 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Alex Hamilton (193-93, college: Louisiana Tech) added 18 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Tofas (3-4) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Galatasaray lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with five games lost. Tofas will face OGM Orman (#9) in Ankara in the next round. Galatasaray's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Dacka.
