Regular Season Round 1: Helios Suns - Mladost ZE 77-80

Another exciting game for Serbian Mladost ZE which played in Domzale against Slovenian Helios Suns. Mladost ZE upset home team edging them after exciting game by three points 80-77. Helios Suns were very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. Mladost ZE forced 22 Helios Suns turnovers. Helios Suns were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Lamar Mitchell (180-89, college: St.Louis) stepped up and scored 19 points, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winners and his fellow American import swingman Trey Drechsel (198-96, college: GCU) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Mladost ZE's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side Montenegrin center Mihailo Sekulovic (206-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds and forward Blaz Mahkovic (201-90, agency: Interperformances) scored 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!). Five Mladost ZE and four Helios Suns players scored in double figures. Mladost ZE will play against Sloboda U. in Uzice in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Helios Suns will play on the road against Spars in Sarajevo to get more than just one victory in their record.
