Regular Season Round 9: CSKA Junior - Unics-2 80-69
Date: November 10, 2020
Not a big story in a game in Moscow where 11th ranked Unics-2 (2-8) was defeated by fourth ranked CSKA Junior (6-4) 80-69 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by CSKA Junior. Unics-2 was better in fourth quarter 21-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Unics-2 was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Filipp Gafurov (207-1) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and guard Vladimir Karpenko (192-0) chipped in 17 points. The best for the losing side was guard Kirill Anoshin (194-0) with 15 points and forward Konstantin Ekimov (205-0, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. CSKA Junior have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 6-4 record. Loser Unics-2 keeps the eleventh position with eight games lost. CSKA Junior will face Samara-2 (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Unics-2 will play against Parma-2 and hope to win that game.
