Regular Season Round 2: Mladost ZE - Sloboda U. 87-89

Important game to mention about took place in Zemun. Sloboda U. saved a 2-point victory on the road edging Mladost ZE 89-87 in the game for the fourth place. Sloboda U. forced 19 Mladost ZE turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. Mladost ZE was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Aleksa Stepanovic (206-98) notched 28 points and 8 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and swingman Stefan Simic (196-96) supported him with 21 points and 4 assists. Even 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by American swingman Trey Drechsel (198-96, college: GCU) did not help to save the game for Mladost ZE. His fellow American import point guard Lamar Mitchell (180-89, college: St.Louis) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the hosts. Four Mladost ZE players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Sloboda U. will play against Spars in Sarajevo in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Mladost ZE will play on the road against S.Centar in Podgorica to get more than just one victory in their record.
