Regular Season Round 7: Barreirense - FC Porto 48-94

LPB top team - FC Porto (6-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Barreirense (1-6) in Barreiro 94-48. FC Porto dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Barreirense's 30. They outrebounded Barreirense 45-20 including a 36-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. FC Porto players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Barreirense's players. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Eric Anderson (204-93, college: New Haven, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Max Landis (188-93, college: PFW) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Forward Kurt James (196-95, college: Valdosta St.) answered with 16 points and guard Richaud Gittens (193-95, college: Seattle) added 8 points and 5 assists in the effort for Barreirense. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for FC Porto. They maintain first place with 6-0 record, which they share with Sporting. Barreirense at the other side keeps the twelfth position with six games lost. FC Porto's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Sporting in Lisbon and it will be for sure the game of the week. Barreirense will play on the road against Oliveirense (#4) in Oliveira and hope to win that game.
