Not a big story in a game in Guimaraes where bottom-ranked Esgueira (0-7) was rolled over by ninth ranked Vitoria SC (3-3) 99-71 on Wednesday. Vitoria SC shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. It was a great evening for center Coreontae DeBerry (208-94, college: Cincinnati) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Jaron Hopkins (198-94, college: Fresno St.) helped adding 18 points and 5 assists. Five Vitoria SC players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Kareem Brewton-Jr (190, college: Memphis) responded with 20 points and 4 assists and forward Benjamin Drake (203, college: Presbyterian) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vitoria SC moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Ovarense. Esgueira lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Vitoria SC will face Galitos-Barreiro (#13) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Esgueira will play against Lusitania and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
