Important game to mention about took place in Chiba. Sixth ranked Toshiba Thunders (9-4) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging much higher ranked Chiba J. (10-3) 97-94 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Chiba J.. Toshiba Thunders made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The former international swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) nailed 27 points and 7 assists for the winning side and international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) accounted for 23 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. American guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) came up with 12 points, 8 assists and 4 steals and Spanish forward Sebastian Saiz (205-94, college: Ole Miss) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Chiba J. in the defeat. Four Toshiba Thunders and five Chiba J. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place. Chiba J. at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Toyama G.. Toshiba Thunders will play against higher ranked Toyama G. (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chiba J. will play against Akita Happinets and hopes to get back on the winning track.
