There was an upset when higher ranked SSV Lok Bernau (2-3) lost to ninth ranked Sixers (2-2) in Sandersdorf 71-85 on Saturday. Sixers made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 SSV Lok Bernau turnovers. Serbian center Djordje Pantelic (204-84) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Point guard Vincent Friederici (190-1) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Sixers players scored in double figures. Sixers' coach Sebastian Ludwig used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Dan Oppland (201-84, college: Valpo) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and American-Bosnian point guard Abdulah Kameric (193-0) added 16 points in the effort for SSV Lok Bernau. Sixers moved-up to fourth place in North, which they share with Schwelm and Stahnsdorf. Loser SSV Lok Bernau dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Sixers will face league's second-placed SparkassenStars in Bochum in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SSV Lok Bernau will play at home against ETV (#10) and hope to win that game.
