Regular Season Round 7: Cibona - Partizan NiS 75-82

Rather expected game when 10th ranked Croatian Cibona (2-5) lost to seventh ranked Serbian Partizan NiS (4-3) in Zagreb 75-82 on Saturday. Partizan NiS outrebounded Cibona 42-20 including a 28-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for center Nikola Jankovic (206-94, agency: BeoBasket) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Marcus Paige (183-93, college: UNC) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. Four Partizan NiS players scored in double figures. Center Roko Prkacin (206-2) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Filip Bundovic (203-94, agency: XL Basketball Agency) added 20 points respectively for Cibona in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Partizan NiS maintains seventh place with 4-3 record. Loser Cibona keeps the tenth position with five games lost. Partizan NiS will meet at home league's leader Crvena Zvezda in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cibona will play against Buducnost (#4) in Podgorica and hope to secure a win.
