Regular Season Round 8: UR Krakow - AZS PCz 71-66

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked AZS PCz (4-4) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked UR Krakow (3-3) 71-66 on Saturday. UR Krakow outrebounded AZS PCz 49-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was center Dawid Szulc (201-99) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Marcin Siwak (182-97) chipped in 7 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Nikodem Kowalski (200-95) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and guard Adrian Placzek (182-85) added 10 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Four AZS PCz players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. UR Krakow moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Gniezno. Loser AZS PCz dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. UR Krakow's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Krakow to the arena AZS AGH KR.
