Regular Season Round 5: TSU - Cactus 77-54
Date: November 14, 2020
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Tbilisi: TSU (#5) and Cactus (#8). TSU (3-2) smashed visiting Cactus (1-4) by 23 points 77-54. The game without a history. TSU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Brandon Sly (180-96, college: ASU) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Bryce Smith (206, college: Valdosta St.) who added 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. Smith is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side forward AJ Sumbry (203-94, college: Wagner, agency: Players Group) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and forward Darius Williams (206-97, college: Southern) scored 7 points and 13 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. TSU moved-up to second place. Cactus lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with four games lost. TSU will play against Vera (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cactus' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Olimpi.
