Important game to mention about took place in . Sixth ranked San Carlos (1-6) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Monarca (2-6) 68-67 on Saturday evening. San Carlos forced 22 Monarca turnovers. Strangely Monarca outrebounded San Carlos 59-31 including a 43-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Valeria Ruiz (-95) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 7 rebounds and Carolina Quesada who added 8 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Yanique Johnson responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Maria Urena scored 9 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted San Carlos maintains sixth position with 1-6 record. It was Monarca's fourth loss in a row. Monarca at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth place with six games lost. San Carlos will play against higher ranked Heredia (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Monarca will play against Santo Domingo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
