Very predictable result when fourth ranked Baskonia (8-3) won against 9th ranked Blusens Monbus (5-5) in Vitoria 80-74 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was an exceptional evening for Argentinian guard Luca Vildoza (191-95) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 5 assists. Italian center Achille Polonara (202-91) accounted for 11 points for the winning side. Baskonia's coach Dusko Ivanovic used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American-Israeli power forward Jake Cohen (208-90, college: Davidson) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Canadian guard Kassius Robertson (191-94, college: Missouri) added 15 points respectively for Blusens Monbus in the defeat. Baskonia have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 8-3 record. Blusens Monbus lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with UCAM Murcia. Baskonia will meet league's leader Real Madrid on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Blusens Monbus will play against Joventut (#6) and hope to secure a win.
