Regular Season Round 15: Niigata A. - Hokkaido L. 76-82

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Hokkaido L. (4-11) won against on the road 8th ranked Niigata A. (6-10) 82-76 on Sunday. Hokkaido L. made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with 37 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. The former international guard Ryoma Hashimoto (178-88) contributed with 8 points and 8 assists for the winners. Hokkaido L.'s coach Yuta Miyanaga used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds and Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-93, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Niigata A.Four Niigata A. players scored in double figures. Hokkaido L. moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Hiroshima D. Niigata A. at the other side keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Hokkaido L. will face league's second-placed Chiba J. at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
