Regular Season Round 9: Olomoucko - Svitavy 86-96

No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Svitavy (3-7) beat bottom-ranked Olomoucko (1-8) in Prostejov 96-86 on Monday. Svitavy outrebounded Olomoucko 44-33 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for naturalized Slovakian point guard Roman Marko (192-86) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Matej Svoboda (200-96, college: Dayton) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Svitavy's coach Lukas Pivoda allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. International forward Lukas Palyza (202-89) answered with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Frantisek Vana (192-98) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Olomoucko. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Svitavy maintains tenth place with 3-7 record. Olomoucko lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Svitavy will face higher ranked Usti n/Labem (#6) in Usti nad Labem in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Olomoucko will play on the road against Kolin (#5) and hope to win that game.
