Regular Season Round 8: Antwerp - Monaco 67-75

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Belgian Antwerp Giants (0-7) were defeated at home by third ranked French Monaco (4-2) 75-67 on Tuesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Antwerp Giants won third quarter 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard Marcos Knight (188-89, college: MTSU, agency: BeoBasket) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Mathias Lessort (205-95, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Monaco players scored in double figures. American forward David Dudzinski (205-92, college: Holy Cross, agency: Inception Sports) produced 12 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Stephaun Branch (196-95, college: UWG) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Defending French champion maintains third position with 4-2 record behind leader Gran Canaria. Loser Antwerp Giants still closes the standings with seven games lost. Monaco will face league's leader Virtus BO in Bologna in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Antwerp Giants will play at home against Lietkabelis (#5) and hope to get finally their first victory.
