Ginebra Kings rallied past Meralco Bolts to take 1-0 lead. Ginebra Kings outrebounded Meralco Bolts 50-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. Guard Scottie Thompson (188-93) nailed 13 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and naturalized American point guard Stanley Pringle (184-87, college: Penn St., agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 19 points and 7 rebounds. Four Ginebra Kings players scored in double figures.
