Regular Season Round 7: Zabiny Brno - USK Praha 45-83

An interesting game for USK Praha (8-0) which played road game in Brno against 3rd placed Zabiny Brno (4-2). Leader USK Praha had an easy win 83-45. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zabiny Brno. USK Praha dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Zabiny Brno's 16. USK Praha forced 28 Zabiny Brno turnovers and outrebounded them 46-29 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. USK Praha looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Zabiny Brno's players. It was an exceptional evening for international guard Veronika Vorackova (175-99) who led the winners and scored 17 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. American forward Alyssa Thomas (188-92, college: Maryland) accounted for 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Five USK Praha players scored in double figures. Forward Katerina Galickova (182-0) came up with 10 points and forward Michaela Vackova (179-93) added 10 points respectively for Zabiny Brno in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. USK Praha have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 8-0 record. Loser Zabiny Brno keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with Slavia. USK Praha will meet Loko Trutnov (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Zabiny Brno will play against SBS Ostrava (#8) and hope to secure a win.
