Baskets Grunberg has registered their first victory this season after two consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they edged much higher ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (1-2) 77-75. Baskets Grunberg forced 21 Rotenburg/Scheessel turnovers. Strangely Rotenburg/Scheessel outrebounded Baskets Grunberg 44-30 including 35 on the defensive glass. American forward Deijah Blanks (178, college: St.Edward's) orchestrated the victory by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Swingman Isabell Meinhart (178-94) contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Hannah Pakulat (181-94) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Maddie Simon (188-97, college: Nebraska) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Rotenburg/Scheessel. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Baskets Grunberg left bottom position moving up to eighth place in North, which they share with Rotenburg. Baskets Grunberg's next round opponent will be Blue Dolphins (#11) in Marburg.
