Regular Season Round 6: Slavia - USK Praha 60-111
Date: November 21, 2020
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Praha: USK Praha (#1) and Slavia (#4). Slavia was smashed at home by 51 points 60-111 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. USK Praha dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Slavia's 48. USK Praha forced 20 Slavia turnovers and outrebounded them 38-17 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for USK Praha especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 39 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Slavia's players. It was a good game for international guard Veronika Vorackova (175-99) who led her team to a victory with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American center Brionna Jones (190-95, college: Maryland) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five USK Praha players scored in double figures. The former international guard Lenka Bartakova (175-91, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 assists and international point guard Eliska Mircova (176-96) added 15 points in the effort for Slavia. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. USK Praha (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. Slavia at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. USK Praha will play against SBS Ostrava (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Slavia will play against Loko Trutnov and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
