The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Guaiqueries' (8-2) home victory over 5th ranked Supersonicos (6-4) 65-56. Guaiqueries forced 20 Supersonicos turnovers. Supersonicos were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for international point guard Leonardo Palacios (186-94) who led the winners and scored 16 points. International Gendric Correa (190-95) accounted for 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four Guaiqueries players scored in double figures. The former international forward Michael Carrera (196-93, college: S.Carolina, agency: Duran International) came up with 17 points and 9 rebounds and forward Kelvin Caraballo (198-88) added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Supersonicos in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guaiqueries moved-up to second place, which they share with Gigantes and Centauros. Supersonicos at the other side keep the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Bucaneros. Guaiqueries will play against bottom-ranked Condores (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Supersonicos will play against Brillantes (#12) and hope to get back on the winning track.
