Regular Season Round 10: SDUSHOR - Brest 74-96

Bottom-ranked SDUSHOR (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 96-74 loss to eighth ranked Brest (3-5) in Minsk on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Brest. SDUSHOR managed to win fourth quarter 23-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Brest dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to SDUSHOR's 46. Brest forced 21 SDUSHOR turnovers and outrebounded them 56-36 including a 39-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by SDUSHOR's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Brest made 9 blocks. Guard Anton Shchurko (188-97) had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and forward Konstantin Solyshko (196-96) chipped in 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Brest players scored in double figures. At the losing side Illia Milashevski (-4) responded with 25 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Mikita Dashkevich (175-1) scored 19 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brest moved-up to sixth place. Loser SDUSHOR still closes the standings with nine games lost. Brest will meet at home Grodno GrSU (#9) in the next round. SDUSHOR's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Minsk to the arena Tsmoki II.
