Regular Season Round 12: Zalgiris II - Vilkaviskis 84-98

We should mention about the upset which took place in Kaunas, where higher ranked Zalgiris II (5-3) lost at home to ninth ranked Vilkaviskis (3-4) 84-98 on Saturday. Vilkaviskis had a 27-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. Vilkaviskis looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Mantas Serksnas (200-96, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 rebounds and the former international Martynas Linkevicius (196-85) who added 21 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Vitalijus Kozys (201-99) with 20 points and 7 rebounds and forward Paulius Murauskas (203-4) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vilkaviskis moved-up to eighth place. Loser Zalgiris II dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Vilkaviskis will meet Silales Lusis (#14) in the next round where they are favorite. Zalgiris II will play against Delikatesas (#9) and hope to secure a win.
