Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Alpo and 10th ranked Albino had identical 2-4 record. But Albino was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Verona 52-49 on Saturday night. Alpo forced 26 Albino turnovers. Point guard Sofia Vespignani (168-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 6 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Power forward Veronica DellOlio (185-93) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Latvian forward Ieva Veinberga (187-84) replied with 18 points and power forward Alice Carrara (186-97) added 5 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Albino. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Alpo (3-4) moved-up to ninth place in A2. Loser Albino dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. Alpo will face higher ranked Sarcedo (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Albino will play against Scrivia (#5) and hope to win that game.
