Regular Season Round 9: Fajardo - Arecibo 86-83

A very close game took place in Fajardo between Cariduros and Capitanes. Sixth ranked Cariduros (5-3) got a very close home victory over 5th ranked Capitanes (5-4). Cariduros managed to escape with a 3-point win 86-83 in the game for the fourth place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Capitanes. The best player for the winners was American guard Terrico White (196-90, college: Ole Miss) who scored 22 points. International forward Derek Reese (203-93, college: Tennessee) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Four Cariduros players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was international Devon Collier (203-91, college: Oregon St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Victor Rudd (205-91, college: S.Florida) added 18 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Cariduros moved-up to fourth place. Loser Capitanes keep the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Guayama. Cariduros will meet at home higher ranked Indios (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Capitanes will play against the league's leader Piratas in Quebradillas and hope to secure a win.
