There was no surprise in Tokyo where 10th ranked Yokohama BC (3-13) was defeated by sixth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (9-7) 87-72 on Wednesday. Hitachi Sunrockers looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and the other American import Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) who added 22 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Czech Patrik Auda (204-89, college: Seton Hall, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 24 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and American forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains sixth position with 9-7 record. Yokohama BC lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with 13 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face Niigata A. (#8) at home in the next round. Yokohama BC will play against San-en NeoPhoenix in Hamamatsu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
