There was no surprise in Hradec Kralove where 5th ranked Zabiny Brno (4-4) was defeated by second ranked Sokol HK (8-1) 78-71. Sokol HK forced 24 Zabiny Brno turnovers. It was a good game for forward Andrea Klaudova (178-89) who led her team to a victory with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Pamela-Therese Effangova (178-93) contributed with 17 points and 4 steals for the winners. Sokol HK's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Eliska Hamzova (182-1) answered with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and international Natalie Stoupalova (185-98) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Zabiny Brno. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Sokol HK. They maintain second place with 8-1 record having just one point less than leader USK Praha. Zabiny Brno lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with four games lost. Sokol HK will again play against Zabiny Brno (#5) on the road in the next round. Zabiny Brno will have a break next round.
