Gigantes held off Bucaneros to seal their semifinal berth. 26 personal fouls committed by Bucaneros helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Jose Vargas (195-82, agency: Pro Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Luis Duarte (190-94) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Tulio Cobos (197-86, college: Northeastern St.) with 21 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Miguel Marriaga (205-84) scored 7 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
