Regular Season Round 15: Gargzdu - Silute 78-85

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Gargzdu (6-2) against seventh ranked Silute (5-3) on Thursday night. Host Gargzdu was defeated by Silute in a tough game in Gargzdai 78-85. Silute dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Gargzdu's 26. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was a good game for point guard Linas Lekavicius (186-84, college: American) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. American forward Kahlil Thomas (203-94, college: Rider) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Center Oskaras Pleikys (202-1) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Mantas Ruikis (197-85) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for Gargzdu. Four Gargzdu players scored in double figures. Silute moved-up to sixth place. Gargzdu at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Silute will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gargzdu will play again on the road against Silute (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
