Regular Season Round 8: Navarra - Gran Canaria 2 95-86

There was an upset in Pamplona where higher ranked Gran Canaria 2 (4-2) was defeated by twelfth ranked Navarra (2-4) 95-86 on Saturday. Navarra looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Gran Canaria 2's players. The best player for the winners was forward Rodrigo Seoane (202-99) who scored 23 points. Swingman Inaki Narros (195-81) chipped in 19 points. Navarra's coach Jordi Juste used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Dominican guard Jean Montero (189-3) produced 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and Latvian forward Marcis Steinbergs (202-1) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Navarra moved-up to tenth place in Silver. Loser Gran Canaria 2 dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Navarra will face Cornella (#12) on the road in the next round. Gran Canaria 2 will play against Tarragona (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
