Bottom-ranked Polpharma managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of twelve consecutive losses. This time they won against tenth-ranked Anwil in Wloclawek 96-89. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Anwil. Polpharma made 26-of-31 charity shots (83.9 percent) during the game, while Anwil only scored nine points from the stripe. Polpharma players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Anwil was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Trevon Allen (188, college: Idaho) who led the winners and scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). His fellow American import guard Steven Haney (195-95, college: LMU) accounted for 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Cape Verdean-Portuguese Ivan Almeida (198-89, college: Stonehill) came up with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Filipino-American guard McKenzie Moore (198-92, college: UTEP) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for Anwil in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Polpharma maintains sixteenth place with 2-13 record. Anwil at the other side dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with GTK Gliwice and King. Polpharma will play against higher ranked Asseco Arka (#12) in Gdynia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Anwil will play on the road against BM Slam Stal (#6) in Ostrow Wlkp. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
