Rather expected game when 9th ranked UCAM Murcia (6-6) was rolled over on the road by seventh ranked Unicaja Malaga (8-4) 102-81 on Sunday. Unicaja Malaga shot 62.1 percent from the field and made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. International guard Francisco Alonso (193-96, college: UNCG) fired 18 points for the winners. Polish forward Adam Waczynski (199-89) chipped in 16 points. Four Unicaja Malaga players scored in double figures. Brazilian center Augusto Lima (206-91) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and American point guard Conner Frankamp (185-95, college: Wichita St.) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Unicaja Malaga. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Burgos. Loser UCAM Murcia keeps the ninth position with six games lost. Unicaja Malaga will face league's leader Real Madrid on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. UCAM Murcia will play against Gipuzkoa (#19) and hope to win that game.
