Regular Season Round 12: Guangdong - Fujian 79-84

There was a minor upset in Dongguan where 8th ranked Vermilion Birds (6-6) were defeated by tenth ranked Fujian Nanan (5-6) 84-79. It was a good game for Taiwanese forward Yu-Chun Wei (173-92) who led her team to a victory with 36 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Tingyi Lai (184-1) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Dongxia Zhang (183-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and center Dilana Dilichati (192-97) added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Vermilion Birds. Four Vermilion Birds players scored in double figures. Fujian Nanan moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Henan and Zhejiang. Vermilion Birds at the other side dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Fujian Nanan's next round opponent will be Sports Lottery (#12) in Penglai. Vermilion Birds will play on the road against Henan Phoenix in Jiyuan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
