Regular Season Round 10: Naestved - Vaerlose 84-68

The biggest surprise took place in Naestved where host Naestved (8-3) beat league's leader Vaerlose (3-7) 84-68 on Monday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Naestved. Vaerlose managed to win second period 26-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Naestved looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Alante Fenner (196-93, college: SSU) fired 15 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winners. The other American import center Jarel Spellman (208-96, college: Sacred Heart, agency: Players Group) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. International Mathias Christensen (202-95) produced 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Asbjorn Nerlov (197-98) added 13 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Five Naestved and four Vaerlose players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naestved moved-up to second place, which they share with Svendborg. Vaerlose at the other side dropped to the second position with seven games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Bakken. Vaerlose will play next round against strong BAC trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Naestved will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Randers at home.
