Regular Season Round 7: Titebi - TSU 89-100
Date: December 7, 2020
Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Tbilisi: TSU (#2) and Titebi (#5). Titebi was defeated at home 89-100 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by TSU. Titebi was better in fourth quarter 30-29. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Titebi was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for forward Quintin Dove (201-98, college: UT Martin) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Brandon Sly (180-96, college: ASU) helped adding 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side forward Tylan Birts (198-96, college: Barry, agency: Green Sports Management) responded with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Branden Aughburns (206-96, college: Holy Family) scored 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Five TSU and four Titebi players scored in double figures. Titebi's coach Manuchar Markoishvili rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. TSU have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 5-2 record having just two point less than leader Kutaisi. Titebi at the other side keeps the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Dinamo. TSU will play against Rustavi (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Titebi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Olimpi.
