Regular Season Round 9: Akhisar Bld - Manisa 85-84

The most exciting game of round 9 in the TBL took place in Akhisar. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Manisa (4-4) to first ranked Akhisar Bld (7-2) 85-84 on Wednesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. 30 personal fouls committed by Manisa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was guard Alihan Genc (189-98) who scored 21 points. Ahmet Tunali (203-92) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four Akhisar Bld players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Marcus Hall (185-85, college: Colorado, agency: SDJ Sports) who recorded 25 points and 5 assists and guard Alican Guney (194-89) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Manisa's coach Ceyhun Cabadak rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Akhisar Bld have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-2 record, which they share with Konyaspor. Manisa at the other side dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Ankara Basket. Akhisar Bld is looking forward to face Bornova Bld (#4) in Izmir in the next round. Manisa will play at home against the league's second-placed Konyaspor (#2) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
