Regular Season Round 2: Al Wakrah - Al Rayyan 91-77

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Al Rayyan's road loss to Al Wakrah 77-91. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American Julius Coles-Jr (193-89, college: Canisius) had a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Nick Stover (198-93, college: USA) chipped in 28 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Stover is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. International center Meho Haracic (213-98) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and American Tavarion Nix (201-92, college: Midwestern St.) scored 23 points and 8 rebounds. Four Al Rayyan players scored in double figures. Al Wakrah will play against Al Arabi in Doha in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Al Rayyan's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Al Gharafa.
