This time Henan Phoenix used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Putian 90-75 on Thursday night. Henan Phoenix outrebounded Fujian Nanan 42-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. International forward Ru Zhang (179-99) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and center Lingge Zhang (187-99) supported her with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Henan Phoenix's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by Taiwanese forward Yu-Chun Wei (173-92) did not help to save the game for Fujian Nanan. Tingyi Lai (184-1) added 20 points for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Henan Phoenix (6-7) moved-up to tenth place. Loser Fujian Nanan dropped to the eleventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Shandong. Henan Phoenix will meet Sports Lottery (#11) in the next round. Fujian Nanan will play against Hebei and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
