Gigantes outscored Spartans to draw things even in the championship series. Gigantes forced 20 Spartans turnovers. Strangely Spartans outrebounded Gigantes 46-24 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Swingman Luis Duarte (190-94) scored 21 points and 4 steals (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Edixon Figueroa (187-94) chipped in 14 points during the contest. The former international Jose Rodriguez (197-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and international forward Jose Ascanio (204-96) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
