Regular Season Round 12: Young Angels - MBK Ruzomb. 77-69

An interesting game for Young Angels (10-2) which hosted in Kosice second-best MBK Ruzomberok (9-2). Third ranked Young Angels managed to get a 8-point victory 77-69. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of MBK Ruzomberok. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It was a great shooting night for Young Angels especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Anna Jurcenkova (195-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 23 rebounds and 6 blocks and center Denisa Blanarova (186-97) who added 19 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Zada Williams (187-96, college: Florida) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and Serbian forward Teodora Turudic (180-99) scored 13 points. Young Angels have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Defending champion MBK Ruzomberok dropped to the third position with two games lost. Young Angels will play against bottom-ranked Nova Ves (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. MBK Ruzomberok will play against SK UMB BB (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
