Regular Season Round 9: PuHu Juniorit - Kipina 106-74

1st Division top team - PuHu Juniorit (8-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Kipina (5-4) in Vantaa 106-74. The game without a history. PuHu Juniorit led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Kipina's 36. PuHu Juniorit forced 20 Kipina turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Kipina's players. American guard Trey Hall-III (193-95, college: Cameron) nailed a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists for the winning side and power forward Niki Ahola (201-98) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five PuHu Juniorit players scored in double figures. PuHu Juniorit's coach Mikko Larkas felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lauri Jantti (202-98) came up with 28 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Antonio Bivins (198-92, college: UMass Lowell) added 19 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Kipina in the defeat. PuHu Juniorit maintains first place in 1st Division with 8-1 record. Newly promoted Kipina dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. PuHu Juniorit will play against FoKoPo (#5) in Forssa in the next round. Kipina will play at home against Team Pajulahti and hopes to get back on the winning track.
